ITS 17: SEEKERS – WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEW ITS SEASON

With the VIII Interplanetario, we close the chapter of the ITS 16 season, marking the end of a cycle in which N5 landed on our gaming tables and revolutionized our battles. An epic conclusion to an intense season.

On the other hand, Krug 2025 has given the starting signal for the new season: ITS 17 Seekers, a season that begins with major changes and fresh ideas. It’s time to renew and revitalize Infinity’s competitive system.

But before diving into the details of what the new season brings, let’s congratulate the winners of the ITS 16 season.

SIRXXI rose as the ITS Champion and also took first place in the Spain Ranking, Lobo0705 is the USA Ranking Champion, and vermisse claimed victory in the Rest of the World Ranking.

Congratulations to all three!

The season miniature painted by the Corvus Belli Studio and a spectacular commemorative trophy of your victory await you.

Now then, let’s take a look at what we can expect from the new season.

During the past season, my life was full of many changes—and there are still more to come. That made me think: perhaps the time had come, after several seasons accumulating content and mechanics, to take a radical step forward with ITS 17.

Following N5, ITS has undergone a clean-up, establishing a new foundation from which to grow.

We begin with a reduction in scenarios. We go from 20 down to 10 (not counting ITS Direct Action scenarios). Despite being fewer missions, the season brings fresh air: 7 out of the 10 are completely new, adding variety and new mechanics. The time will come to expand the list again, but for now it’s about adapting to these changes, which include unusual deployment zones (previewed at the Interplanetario), shifting control areas that change from game to game, and even—for the first time ever in ITS—an asymmetric mission!

Operational Learning arrives in some missions. This new bonus is designed to help mitigate the frustration of those moments when the dice just don’t cooperate—while still keeping the thrill of the game’s inherent randomness.

The new Treasure Hunter Extra is a mechanic that will put the spotlight on Sãcha, the special miniature and profile making its debut this season, being now available for all armies during this season (afterwards it will only be available in Kestrel, Shindenbutai, Torchlight, USAriadna, and the Invincible Army).

These Seekers will be able to obtain weapons and equipment from treasures scattered across the table and, if the match turns against them, they’ll even be able to claim an Objective Point by controlling one of these treasures.

Resilience Operations undergoes a slight change: now we must reveal one of our objectives each turn. This will encourage more direct player interaction. What will you reveal first? An easy objective that your opponent will see coming, or an impossible one that will draw your enemy’s attention while giving you freedom to achieve the rest calmly?

It’s time to leave behind the “Uncharted Horizons” and truly become Seekers, plunging headfirst into ITS 17. A season that undoubtedly promises not only new challenges and discoveries, but also a significant shift in the metagame.

That said, I invite you to explore the new ITS document and try the missions on the table—because this season, there is still much to uncover.
