A new ITS Infinity season has begun!
A new season of the organized play of Infinity, our favorite wargame.
A season that'll hopefully be clear of global sanitary concerns and that'll allow the community to regain a degree of activity similar to pre-pandemic times.
To that end, we've prepared Thunderclap, the fourteenth season of ITS Infinity, packed full with news.
After the fluff texts that establish the action framework, the first change you'll find is that the PDF can be found in CivEvac.
Synchronize Civilian and the CivEvac State are replaced by the CivEvac rule, to streamline them into a single rule, given that Civilians are not Troopers and they therefore need not to use States.
Additionally, we're adding the Direct Action season extra, including a set of missions with reduced ITS rules, without terrain rules, Classified Deck, or HVT. This way, stepping into the world of tournaments becomes easier, so does testing different scenarios, since they can also be used in any official Infinity tournament on par with the rest.
Thunderclap includes the Tachimotos rule, which replaces Bike Recon, granting Marksmanship and Tac Awareness, as well as ECM: Hacker (-3) to Remotes that have the Forward Observer and Repeater combo. Traktor Mul is given an option with this combo of skill and piece of equipment, so it can access this bonus and you can now use this Traktor Mul with the Tohaa, too.
Moreover, a new scenario is added to the list of missions: Criogenics, in which HVTs can be found in cold storage inside Tech-Coffins.
The Special Rules of this season's Scenario are the ones below:
- Security Detachment (SECDET): allows the alignment of a free CSU.
- Corsair: allows the alignment of a free Bashi Bazouk.
- Master Breacher: a Trooper of your choosing gains Terrain (0-G) and D-Charges.
- No Gravity Zone: grants a MOV bonus to Terrain (Total), (0-G), and Super-Jump.
- Low Gravity Area: grants Super-Jump to Terrain (Total) and (0-G).
- Decompression: allows the placement of a Difficult Terrain Circular Template (0-G) and Saturation.
- EVO Hacker Bonus: EVO Hackers provide a maximum of a single extra Regular Order per Army List. During this season, the Hacker EVO will have a Wardriver input added to the Army, in consideration to the armies that lack this option.
- F-13 Defensive Turret: allows the alignment of a free Turret.
Scenario modifications: a series of changes have been made to some scenarios in response to the feedback provided by the community.
Moreover, an average of two special scenario rules have been added to each one of them, carefully avoiding repeating similar rules to those from past season.
All of this with the express purpose of offering a different game experience for each mission compared to previous seasons.
- Highly Classified: scores have been modified to balance results and reduce the total number of victories.
- Biotechvore: the Intelcom Card rule has been replaced with the EVO Hacker Bonus.
- Frostbyte: scores and the number of Objectives have been modified so results are more balanced. Additionally, the use of Automated Defense Systems (ADS) has been defined to avoid uncertainties and the way to use D-Charges has been clarified.
- Frontline: the Intelcom Card has been modified to clarify that it applies to the first card drawn from the deck.
- Looting and sabotaging: the use of Automated Defense Systems (ADS) has been defined to avoid uncertainties and the way to use D-Charges has been clarified. Additionally, passing the WIP Roll in Use Panoply now grants the player the option of obtaining D-Charges or performing a Roll in the Panoply Table.
