Raptor Boarding Squad
“The key element for moving in Zero-G is footholds, essential for gaining momentum or maintaining a position.

The Raptors are part of the Starmada Rapid Response Regiment.
The unit specializes in lightning operations and immediate strike and contingency deployments.
As a marine infantry unit, they can be dropped off to establish a beachhead. It is also their duty to carry out Space Interdiction/Boarding Operations and to establish the SWORDFOR Armada's Security/Counterterrorist Control.
All its members get Zero-G and EVA training, so they are the battle crew of O-12's ships and orbital platforms.
This means the Raptors constitute the first line of planetary defense. Since it is a strategic purpose force, this unit is incorporated as a special squad to Starmada's tactical operating teams.
Speed is the key to their strikes. The Raptors know that when the battle takes longer than the initial thirty seconds, that is when the real thrill begins.
The philosophy of EVA combat is: “The first to get a hit wins.
” The smallest hole in the EVA suit results in instantaneous decompression, so if the impact does not terminate the target, at least they will stop fighting as they try to block the hole before running out of oxygen.
In other words, they will become an easy target for the members of this squad.
Equipped with semi-autonomous remote-activity tactical auxiliary units, Raptors are pure target hunters, swift, versatile, and deadly.
They did not look for a cool name for their squad, it was given to them by their enemies—among many other names that did not sound as cool—and their service record shows they have fully earned it.
Tankhunter Regiment
The TankHunter Regiment is formed by units trained in the joint use of anti-tank weaponry and camouflage techniques.
These specialized units are part of the Ariadnan army’s attempt to make up for its lack of large quantities of heavy equipment with a regiment capable of leveling the field against highly armored enemies.
The regiment subjects its soldiers to demanding training, hammering them into remarkably efficient units.
The cost of this training is high: desertions, medical leave for exhaustion and pain, and the odd suicide.
The regimental creed is that the only way to get real TankHunters is to devise a training program so hard that trainees can feel proud of having survived it.
Their standard operating procedure is based on a meticulous knowledge of an area and the use of hiding techniques, so that their ambush attacks and lightning strikes can be followed by quick withdrawals before the enemy can get his bearings.
This MO is so effective that the unofficial regimental motto has become “Wait, shoot, run”. TankHunters are also recovery experts, trained to disable enemy vehicles so that they can be repaired and reused by their comrades.
Bashi Bazouks
Bashi Bazouk (masc.). Term that comes from the Turkish Başibozuk, literally "damaged head", although it is generally translated as "without leader".
This expression was used to designate certain irregular, ancient Ottoman army troops.

At present, the Bashi Bazouks are mercenary adventurers contracted to be part of privateer crews in service to the Sultan and also to the large merchants and lords of the Silk Road.
Integrated into the Search and Sweep teams their mission consists of exploring boarded ships, eliminating pockets of resistance, and searching for interesting materials: jobs at which one cannot deny their effectiveness.
Although in general all of them have a military past, the Bashi Bazouks have forgotten all about discipline and respect for authority.
As boarding groups they are a wild, inveterate, and disparate group which devastates ships with their chaotic unruliness.
Scoundrels, villains without conscience or law, these undisciplined troops live thinking only of their own benefit and are sometimes difficult to control.
Their raids and the havoc they cause are notorious, but the indelible stain on their record was the Al-Umara Station massacre during the Silk Revolts, in which hundreds of civilians were killed.
Since then the term Bashi Bazouk has become a pejorative term among the people of space. However, the usefulness of the Bashi Bazouks has allowed them to survive their bad reputation, and while greed continues to control interstellar commerce there will always be a mission for these opportunistic rioters.
