Caskuda
Caskudas are insects similar to cockroaches, but far worse. Native to Acontecimento, they are large flying bugs that breed very quickly, have an unusually strong carapace, and are immune to most legal insecticides. They’re an absolutely hateful, filthy, and disgusting nightmare. The first time some PanOceanian troops came under attack from the War Contract Department’s Armored Jump Operators, they reminded them so much of those damn bugs that they immediately came up with the nickname. Caskudas are TAGs outfitted as transatmospheric jump units that can be launched into an area of operations either from a planet’s orbit or from an aircraft flying below the Kármán line.
During re-entry into the atmosphere, acceleration can exceed 6g’s, however, the adaptive geometry of the Caskudas allows them to control and exploit the complex shock-wave patterns to take full advantage of them and reduce friction. At a 20-kilometer altitude, repulsors activate for descent at supersonic speed and gradually slow down to subsonic speed. So as to adapt to the higher density of the atmosphere, some stabilizing fins sprout on their backs, which accentuates their insectoid look.
Their entry into the battlefield could easily be mistaken for a meteor shower until they land. Only Caskudas don’t really land, even though they could if they wanted to. Caskudas actually crash into the battlefield, causing a massive blast with the aim of wreaking havoc in their enemy’s ranks. The resulting image is truly terrifying: first, an artillery shell hits you, and then it rises up and starts spitting fire. How would you feel if you were bombarded with heavily-armed armored assault vehicles?

Maximus is the greatest Aristeia! star of all time, so much so that he has been dubbed the “A” of this combat sport show. This is someone who was already considered a superhuman even before he became part of the social elite that are the Posthumans of ALEPH. The hero of millions of people and an example for all of us, endowed with a sense of duty that has kept him from sitting idly on a golden pedestal after he retired from competition, his response to these dark times the Human Sphere is going through has been to join the Support Subsection’s Program Ank and lead the international extreme rescue team of the Optimates.
Once again, Maximus is making headlines. Once again, Maximus is back to dazzle the Human Sphere.
Maximus is more than a man, he is a symbol of international scope, probably the most famous and influential figure in the Human Sphere.
How can this be possible when Maximus is said to be the embodiment of PanOceania and the PanOceanian lifestyle, which is so reviled by many of the citizens of all its rival nations?
The answer to this question is very simple: Maximus’ international reputation is based on the fact that, actually, and to the regret of many, he is not committed to any political project, but only to his ideals, which are of the highest possible standard. What Maximus truly represents and epitomizes are the ideals of Freedom, Truth, Fortitude, and Justice.
These highest ideals he embodies do not come easy, for he has earned this position over the course of a whole professional career defined by integrity. Maximus has been able to prevail in every battle thanks to his moral beliefs, which motivate him to continue fighting without losing heart. And this is so because he has the resolve and courage to face any adversity or opponent. It is his unshakable faith in freedom and justice that has guided his judgment and his professional career from the beginning, making him the protector of the citizens of the Sphere. Not for nothing, his iconic weapon is a shield, a defensive item designed to block any attack, much like Maximus himself, who will not hesitate to stand in the way of any danger that threatens the innocent and the helpless, no matter what foe he must fight, and no matter what price he must pay.
This attitude of his has sometimes led to friction with his sponsors, who have been subjected to the harsh and critical gaze of the colossus of Aristeia! However, the advantage of sponsoring a personality like Maximus is in letting him be himself, without interfering in his speech, which is what the public finds so appealing, and sharing those values he is widely admired for, at least in public. The executives of the corporations that sponsor him have come to understand that there is more profit to be made in backing out of policies that Maximus condemns, in rectifying those policies and publicly supporting him, because when they do this they show that they are concerned with the common good, and retain their customers’ trust. Although our hero is fully aware of this self-serving and manipulative attitude of the corporations that sponsor him, he also knows that it is a price he must pay in order to have an impact at a truly significant level. This is Maximus’ way of exerting his influence on corporations from within to make them more socially responsible, yet another effort by this modern-day hero to make the Human Sphere a better place.
After all, if there is one trait that characterizes Maximus, it is that he always finds the passion and the guts to do what many other people do not have the courage for. And both his training and all his high-tech gear have only made his colossal exterior match the quality of his titanic interior. Because he is not only a hero due to his physical strength and prowess, but also thanks to his human nature, his integrity, and his rock-solid principles. Maximus believes in doing the right thing, and he will always fight to the death to make the dream he defends come true. He firmly believes in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for each and every citizen of the Sphere, with the exception of evildoers, to whom he has a few things to say, quite often in more than words, for Maximus never hesitates to take action
