DIRE FOES MISSION PACK 10: SLAVE TROPHY

Armies: Combined Army/ Morat Aggression Forces/ Shasvastii Expeditionary Force

A Zabuk is returning triumphant with her trophy: the head of an escaped slave.

However, she doesn’t know that this head belongs to a Speculo Agent who had taken the place of a human administrative clerk without anyone’s knowledge.

The secrets contained in this Shasvastii agent’s Cube could be a triumph for the Shasvastii in front of their leader, the EI.

But first the raiding party led by Hasht must secure the Zabuk’s trophy, and that’s something that neither Anyat nor her team will abide.

Dire Foes Mission Pack 10: Slavery Trophy includes 3 miniatures:

  1. Treitak Anyat
  2. Corax Hasht
  3. Zabuk Morat Slaver.

Dire Foes

With this box you can not only expand your collection of Infinity miniatures, but you will get new options for your army—giving them personality with these two heroes—and also a Morat model that can be used as HVT, a neutral model to play missions and scenarios.

ZABUK, MORAT SLAVERS

Despite their bad reputation, for the Morat, all life is valuable.

For this race, every life matters. In the sense that every life is worth something, all lives have a price.

Slavery, understood as an essential part of the spoils of war, of the victor’s reward, is a tradition that dates back to the origins of Morat history.

From societies based on a slave economy, which enslaved entire populations, a notion has survived to the present day: defeated prisoners are to be used as a slave labor force, and commonly for the war effort.

Those captured by the Morat are forced to carry out the worst logistical and engineering tasks in order to support the progress of the Supremacy’s operations on the front lines.

Some may be sent to military contractors’ factories to manufacture weapons, munitions, and hardware, serving as slave labor for these Morat companies.

Working conditions in either assignment are often appalling, and most people would regard being captured and enslaved by the Morat as a fate worse than death.

Infinity Dire Foes Zabuk

That is why there are few who are more hated on the battlefield than Morat Slavers, heartless beings whose main task is to identify the most promising prisoners to meet the needs of the logistics and engineering divisions of the Supremacy, or of the Morat corporations that thrive on war.

Initially, the Zabuk were just a specialized troop attached to the Logistics divisions, and occasionally former soldiers on the payroll of corporations who accompanied the Aggression Forces to protect the interests of their employers.

However this created a number of problems, as Supremacy officers don’t like interference from civilian organizations, no matter how many ex-military staff work for them.

Consequently, the Zabuk branched off from Logistics to become a highly specialized, independent corps with a unique status in the chain of command, working both for the Aggression Forces and for private Morat corporations according to certain quotas agreed between the latter and the High Command.

The duties of the Zabuk remain the same: to go around the battlefield marking those suitable for forced labor, and to chase down any slave who dares escape from a labor camp or a Morat factory.

Hunting down escaped slaves is one of the main tasks of the Zabuk, as well as one of the most abhorred since they are authorized to capture the fugitives either dead or alive, and most Zabuk prefer the first option.

Their impunity and indifference to the lives of the fugitives is explained by the fact that their work must set an example.

Slaves must understand that anyone who tries to escape is doomed to be killed, either during the chase or by summary execution upon return to the labor camp.

For the Morat, as valuable as a slave may be, it’s more important to maintain discipline, and there is no better way to do so than through fear. The Zabuk thus become the sword of Damocles for every slave under Morat rule.

Those poor prisoners don’t fear anything or anyone like they fear these seasoned hunters who are famous for being able to catch any slave, or to shoot them in the back if they don’t feel like running that day. But no matter how despicable they may be, they should never be underestimated.

All Zabuk are veterans with years of experience, capable of joining the Aggression Forces in the roughest assaults, precisely where they can get their hands on the most coveted prize: the best slaves to serve the needs of the Morat.

TREITAK ANYAT

Anyat is notorious across the Treitak Unit for her unscrupulous methods, her love for games of chance and her persistent presence in some of the most disreputable gambling dens.

With a vast array of tricks up her sleeve, Anyat lets nothing stand in her way when on a mission, particularly if said mission would earn her favors and privileges.

infiniity Dire Foes Treitak

Anyat did not enlist for glory; she is in it for the thrills and the spoils of war. Everything she does is part of a scheme to amass material rewards with the ultimate goal of achieving what to her is a great life: an early, honorable retirement with well-lined pockets.

Along the way, she will try to enjoy herself. Anyat is not afraid of diving into delicate positions: her profit margin is wider when all bets are against her.

However, on occasion her penchant for gambling has seen her involved in untenable scenarios. Maybe one day her risk analysis will falter, and she might not live to tell the tale, but until that day the Morat High Command will see her as a winning bet.

SHASVASTII CORAX HASHT

“Vengeance is an acceptable cause, provided it acts as a driving force for survival.”

Recitative no. 47. Corishva Manual of Shasvastii Military Doctrine.

My subject-identifier is Hasht. I belong to the sequential brood 6/529.

Along with my siblings, I was bred as a soldier and protector of my race. I was conditioned to be the perfect guardian of the Shaviish—the SpawnEmbryo reserve-hatchery—for the Aerota star cluster.

When the vicious Tohaa attack upon our Shaviish took place, I was undertaking an induced learning shift inside my SeedEmbryo.

The emergency hatching protocols allowed me to dispatch a number of aggressors and to collaborate in the evacuation of the SpawnEmbryos, averting an even greater disaster.

When the assault concluded with the destruction of the Shaviish, I was left with no other motivation but vengeance.

I requested a transfer to the Corash unit, so I could choose to be posted where I could hurt the Tohaa the most.

My goal was to fulfill the duty I was bred for: protecting my race, only in a more proactive, hostile way.

Inifinty Dire Foes Corax

I specialized in assault and punishment actions on the Tohaa fronts.

I maimed and then killed any Tohaa I could get my hands on, and made sure to destroy anything that was of any importance to them.

I took part in the capture of the Teramaasu stronghold, in the incursion into the Trojans of the Breo-Kasi gas giant, and in the destruction of the scientific colonies of planet Doymas.

I took no prisoners and left no loose ends, except for that one time.

A Tohaa rescue team managed to seize the prisoner I was interrogating. Years later, a galaxy away, my aeropter was ambushed and, as I crawled from under the burning wreck, I faced her again one-on-one. But even her master plan for revenge was not enough to kill me and, once again, I escaped the inescapable.

Now here I stand, alive and doing what I do best: killing. Next time I encounter her, it will be the last.

She has eluded me far too many times. I refuse to leave a job half-done again. I am a Corax. I am inevitable. There is no escaping me. Keep that in mind if you ever think to cross my path.
