ALEPH’s Special Situations Section at first used the different PanOceanian Mulebot models as multifunctional and semi-autonomous land units.
The need to develop its own model soon became apparent however; a model that could adapt itself to the Section’s tactical and logistical peculiarities.
The Rebot model was taken as base for designing the new unit in order to reduce logistical and maintenance needs by using common spare parts and tools.
The different work teams of the various employed contractors had to embark on a long and intense period of capacities testing following a process of careful refinement of the principle systems, before being able to validate the execution characteristics of the proposed design.
The maximum and minimum performance margins are an important achievement that was determined from the very first design stages up to the large scale battery of tests for the hardware.
This unit currently represents significant advances in vehicular design and embodies a new technical development strategy for covering high mobility, efficiency, deployment, and resistance requirements of the Section.
Nevertheless, the Probot, short for Prototype Robot, is still understood to be the first step in a new generation of multifunctional remote units.
Possibilities for improving this Remote model are such that its own designers still consider it to be a production phase prototype.
The future will probably surprise us with results from the investigation and development lines generated by the Probot.

It’s a tough life for an Atek in PanOceania.
Even more so if your parents are self-employed workers, trampled underfoot in the forward march of progress.
And even worse if you happen to live in some remote little village up on the Albanian mountains where the only landmark of any interest to anyone is a satellite tracking station full of military scientists.
You know it’s a tough life when you are a fifteen-year-old named Valerya and they tell you your only career options are waitressing or prostitution—or both. So Valerya took up waitressing.
That way she could chat up the station technicians who came by for a drink, and hopefully find a nice boyfriend to help her out of her dead-end life.
Engineers love nothing more than talking about their job, and Valerya paid attention, asked questions, filled in the gaps and slowly built her knowledge until she decided the local techs had nothing more to teach her.
Then, she packed her gadgets—half of them gifts, the other half mail-ordered—, emptied her account and ran off to Tirana with a few petabytes’ worth of military secrets thieved from her boyfriends over the years.
From Tirana, she made her way to the East African Space Elevator, a long trip for which she hired the services of the Druze Society.
The vicinity of a Space Elevator is the best place to look for a job, particularly if you’re a noob hacker with a pocket full of infowar software.
She started out as a script kiddie, but a five-year stint in the Nomad Foreign Company gave her the military training she had been missing.
Another three years in a Haqqislamite corsair crew taught her how to hustle in the real world.
With her brilliant record and hard-earned reputation, she figured she could just cut out the middleman and go it alone.
