The Myrmidons are ALEPH’s elite assault units and together form the vanguard in the specific fight against the EI.
They have Lhosts at their disposal that have been specially designed for accompanying Achilles into combat. Their reputation goes hand in hand with their leader, and it is truly surprising to see the influence he has over these tough and aggressive veteran soldiers.
No man in history has ever had more loyal followers. The Myrmidons are the reflection of Achilles, sharing certain character traits with him such as an excessive taste for violence and action at any cost. To them each new fight, each new combat has to be the bloodiest of all, exceeding the intensity of any prior confrontation.
The Myrmidons are sent by ALEPH to where only fury and force will triumph, where cold logic just doesn’t seem to be enough. Just like the ancient Myrmidons of Thessaly, their armor is painted a dark color, giving them the chitinous appearance of ants.
Ferocious and dangerous, the Myrmidons are cruel and formidable warriors. Despite their savagery, they are considered to be the finest assault infantry in the Sphere, without equal in terms of efficiency and results. There is no adversary capable of resisting the overwhelming tide of destruction that they bring. All of their enemies yield, devastated by the infernal storm of the Myrmidon’s attack, sprung on them like an angry and roaring wave of steel and death.
Myrmidon Officers have been created to lead the most effective and ferocious assault troops of the Human Sphere. Or they have been chosen from the best of the best of these troops to become their champions. Either one of these statements can be true, but it doesn’t matter because they are both part of ALEPH’s plan. Officers are warriors with such valor and of such quality that they are worthy of fighting side by side with the most legendary heroes from the Trojan War. These Officers are the muscle and tendons of the SSS. They don’t care about the subtleties of strategy because they know that when they are sent into the battlefield together with the warriors they lead, their only mission, the only one they have been created for, is to destroy the enemy and to win the battle. Because when the dust settles even if it is ALEPH that claims victory, it will have been these warriors with their strength, their combat instinct, and their leadership who have triumphed.
