One can't start an article on this topic without stating a real, undeniable truth: ninjas do not exist. The reader must be aware that everything they're about to read is based on rumors extracted from the data sphere, stories lacking solid support from reliable sources, or verifiable proof.
Originally, ninjas were an invention concocted by the Hexahedron, the PanOceanic intelligence service, and the Nomad's Black Propaganda to discredit the glorious Yu Jing Empire with unfounded accusations about hi-tech assassins skilled in martial arts, responsible for crimes and deaths that their law enforcement agencies couldn't solve.
This concept was successfully exploited by numerous Maya-productions, such as Padre-Inquisidor Mendoza's Holofilms or the Mayaseries "Cold Blue," starring that PanOceanic media hero known as Commander Frost. The ninjas were always portrayed with a negative and evil bias in all these Maya-productions. They appeared as assassins and saboteurs associated with the StateEmpire's army and government, creating an icon that would deeply resonate in the collective consciousness of the Human Sphere as a whole.
The power of this icon was so great that even the Japanese Secessionist Army—after violently and traitorously splitting from the Yu Jing Empire—would extensively utilize it, increasing the myth around it by adding new types of ninjas, each supposedly more unbeatable than the last. These hypothetical ninjas would be responsible for acts of espionage, theft, and all kinds of covert actions that were likely carried out by members of the standard special forces of the Greater Independent Japan. However, claiming the existence of legendary martial artists equipped with state-of-the-art technology will always instill more fear and restlessness among the enemies of the Japanese Secessionist Army.
Therefore, everything you're about to read is based on a mixture of lies, hoaxes, propaganda, and pseudo-conspiracy theories that shouldn't be believed. Taking advantage of the naivety of countless citizens in the Human Sphere, Corvus Belli—an evil corporation obsessed with profit and unconcerned about whether its customers go bankrupt or engage in criminal activities to acquire their products—has released a compilation box of metal miniatures that supposedly represent different types of the urban myth called ninjas.
The first of these, even if only from a chronological standpoint, is the Tactical Bow Ninja. This figure was part of the renovation and redesign of Yu Jing troops during the release of N3. It was a miniature that could only be found in the Operation Red Veil Battle Pack (2016), which has been since discontinued and is therefore not available in the catalog. Its modern and high-tech design, along with the sculpture's movement and "acting," quickly made this ninja a fan favorite, and the demand for its return back into the catalog among the player base has been constant, to which Corvus Belli has responded by including it in this box.
For players of the JSA (Japanese Sectorial Army) and Yu Jing, a Tactical Bow miniature is of interest since it can be used to represent both the simple option with that weapon and the Assassin Hacker, whose profile also includes a Tactical Bow. That's why, when the Ninja Blister was released, it came with a set of two right arms, one with a Submachine Gun, lethal in close combat and the Ninja Hacker's weapon of choice, and another arm with a Tactical Bow to cover that lost option after the Operation Red Veil Battle Pack was discontinued. This Ninja, which is also part of this box, includes a truly spectacular and scenic base that mimics the rooftop finish of a Japanese manor.
At the time, the release of the Japanese Sectorial Army—back then still part of Yu Jing—following the release of the Human Sphere book corresponding to the second edition of Infinity (N2) brought new profiles, including that of the Oniwaban. These "master gardeners" received that name due to their extensive knowledge of botanics, which is necessary to prepare poisons, and that supposedly enabled them to oversee the Imperial Gardens. They were expert ninjas, entrusted with the most difficult missions, and had a highly optimized profile that made them fearsome. Their Hidden Deployment—which renders them invisible adversaries—combined with their advanced infiltration capabilities—that allow them to reach almost any point on the gaming table—and their outstanding martial prowess, make these master gardeners the main threat of the JSA attack forces.
However, the Oniwaban are not as fearsome as Shinobu Kitsune, the Oniwaban personality is also included in this box. Shinobu is another urban myth, a character shrouded in mystery, from whom it's known even less than the ninjas. So little is known about her that the figure includes two optional heads, one with a hat and one without it, as Corvus Belli's concept artists could not agree on which head would better fit the reality (or rather fiction) of this character.
The last figure in the box shares the same feature as Shinobu, the dual set of heads: one with a hat and one without one. The Shikami are ninjas equipped with lightweight servo-powered armor that grants them superhuman abilities, allowing them to perform actions that defy reality even more. This would be the only ninja in this box that lacks the Camouflage ability, relying instead on their armor, high mimetism, combat skills, and evasion capabilities, making it easy for them to reach any objective on the board. Additionally, they are the only type of ninja that can be part of a Fireteam in the Japanese Secessionist Army.
As one can see, the mind-blowing contents of this box amply surpass the limits of implausibility, and all of that's due to one simple reason: none of these ninjas actually exist. They are all products of a feverish imagination that serves greater interests and from which this devious company now takes advantage in order to take away the money from your comlog's wallet application. But now you've been warned. Don't be fools, don't believe a thing they say!
