Olga Stolyarova
The Ice Queen of the Boxes is always the favorite in bets.
If you want to see what video games were like two centuries ago, just take a look at the holos in Olga Stolyarova's pilot box. There, you'll find a plethora of archaic consoles from the early 21st century wired to state-of-the-art Nomad technology, all in the pursuit of training skill, hand-eye coordination, and piloting instincts. Of course, just as it as in those retro games: with no support or aid whatsoever.

In the Nomad motherships that fly across the cosmos, one is worth only as much as they are useful to their ship. Olga learned to pilot Remotes even before going to daycare and has spent the rest of her life honing her dexterity and grit by piloting and winning. The Ice Queen's legendary composure remains unshaken, nothing fazes her, both on and off the track.

And there's his victory hand gesture, the ray gun
"Joko" Acosta, the first pilot and founder of Lightspeed Racing team, always held press conferences with his driving helmet on. Since then, no Lightspeed pilot has ever revealed their features, and each one is known only by a nickname. The current champion, Photon, is on a fast track to surpassing all the records of the distinguished founder of his team.
Don't congratulate the runner-up, they're just the first of the losers.
Nothing certain is known about Photon. Unfounded rumors fill the Maya gossip mills, all fueled by the team itself. The only certainty about him is that, before each race, he touches what has been the talisman of all his predecessors: three spent bullets hanging from his control seat. Because, as the saying goes, "Fame comes at a price."
Xiu Zhihang
Another season! The veteran Xiu Zhihang is tireless!
Xiu Zhihang will rush in with her entourage, quickly catching up on your visit to the box and indicating that she has only six minutes to leave for the annual fundraising event for orphans in Paradiso. Nevertheless, she'll have a genuine smile for you, share friendly gossip about a fellow racer, and remind you of the last time you crossed paths at an event. Any question about her retirement will always receive the same reply: "Soon."

Xiu has been in the top league for longer than any other pilot without diminishing her performance. The walls of her cockpit are filled with holographic photos of her victories, charitable races, and visits as an ambassador of her country to all corners of the Human Sphere where children suffer.
Noor Zoubi
Noor Zoubi is the brightest star to have just awakened in the REM Racers scene. This young lady has come to change everything.
There is a perpetual queue at Noor Zoubi's box. The press stands guard in front of it almost continuously, and she always has a bright smile and affectionate words for her fans. She's the youngest competitor and it shows: the walls of her cockpit are filled with dedications from all REM Racers competitors who are or have been someone in the racing world. "I'm a fan... of everyone."
Be happy, that drives people crazy.
Ever since her uncle and aunt gifted her the first Remote on her fifth birthday, Noor hasn't stopped piloting, practicing on the most challenging natural tracks found in the mountainous landscapes of Dar el Funduq. Her special ability to adapt to any track or terrain caught the attention of the Basha'ir Velocity scouts, who saw her as a diamond in the rough. Thus, at just sixteen years old and with her parents' permission, they introduced her as a rookie in the highest league, and she crowned herself the winner in her first race.
Charles W. McQueen
Figures, the humblest racing team on the scene had to have the youngest and most daring pilot. Charles W. McQueen is a lamb with wolf claws.
The only place Charles W. McQueen ever allows himself to finish last is in an interview, and you can be sure he'll do so while wiping away a trickle of blood from a broken lip or with a bruised eye. Although this young punk with a heart of gold is far from being the bad boy of the tracks, he's always ready to help any pilot in need.
Faith in God and pedal to the metal.
As the child of Ariadnan military parents, McQueen spent his childhood bouncing around the planet Dawn, trying to fit in wherever he went, even if he had to punch his way into them. His luggage never fails to include his nearly obsolete Remote control and a T-shirt from "Castropol's Werewolves," his favorite Dog Bowl team back home.
Krisztina Yagami
You can never say that Krisztina Yagami goes unnoticed. Her outfits are as much a trend in fashion as her victories, which always come after an unexpected comeback.
If Krisztina Yagami invites you to tea with pastries in her box, refusing the offer is not an option. You'll find no other place as comfortable. Not a single element of her space will be out of place; you'll enjoy a space in perfect harmony, and she will go to great lengths to ensure the shared time is perfect. That is precisely her philosophy on the track: perfection, both in planning and execution, as well as in results.
Don't you ever forget it, stick to the plan. Always. The plan is like a good rope, it doesn't tie you down, but keeps you from falling down.
One day, Krisztina's parents caught her racing her small remote-controlled unit against her angora bunny on the family estate in Lorena, Concilium Prime. Since then, this privileged young woman has followed a perfectly planned life path toward glory. Krisztina has had the opportunity to train with the best pilots in the best pilot schools. From there, she made the leap to the highest level of competition, where she'd pile up victories and experience from the very beginning.
Otto
Otto is the most consistent pilot in the competition. His results don't depend on emotions or having a good day. His numbers are always a safe be.
Although you may find Otto's body in his cockpit, it's most likely that his mind won't be there there, but rather aboard 808 (BOB). Then, you'll have to face one of his two automated routines: either the drowsy and uncommunicative one he runs while training or the contemplative and assertive one he displays during competitions. Whether one or the other, both are quite unsettling.
The track at Darwin Circuit is pure natural selection, ideal for distinguishing between the fit and the unfit.
When Savitar Racing executives commissioned an AI pilot, they had three principles in mind: fast, accurate, and cool. ALEPH simply remarked: "Pick two out of the three." Three weeks later, the "Pilot" Project, downloaded into a biosynthetic body, walked through the door of the team's marketing department, barging into the meeting where his name and personal brand were being decided, and declared: "My name is Otto." Without uttering an extra word, he turned on his heels and headed straight to the track to train.
Agnes Ferreira
Agnes Ferreira is a war veteran participating in a children's game.
Entering Agnes Ferreira's box before a race is like sticking your head into the cabin of a rescue aircraft ready for combat just before it takes off. Her procedure is a military pilot's standard: a methodical check of the piloting and safety systems, a sudden sequence of orders to the mechanics, and a reassuring smile for her passengers.
Buckle up. We'll be the first to reach our destination, and we'll take down some junk along the way.
Agnes's pilot leather jacket is littered with commemorative patches; some belong to PanOceanian and O-12 air units, while others are mementos from previous missions. This piece of clothing alone provides more information about her than any Maya info-bot we could ask. Since leaving the family farm in Acontecimento, Agnes has piloted through the most intense enemy fire and ventured into the hostile deep space past the Acheron Gate.
Dalle “Gas” Gaseel
Dalle Gaseel has earned his nickname, 'Gas,' through sheer effort. His symbiotic control unit always has the speed setting fixed to maximum with tape.
The press loves few things more than getting into an athlete's inner sanctum, but in the case of Dalle "Gas" Gaseel, getting access to his is a journey to another world. A world where a ceiling of bubbling black slime regurgitates a naked humanoid, confused and embarrassed, barely covering parts of his body. Thinking you've arrived at a bad time, the embarrassment transfers to your own face in the form of an extreme blushing... and then the individual bursts into laughter, offering you a seat. That's "Gas," both a real and metaphorical alien.
Weeeeeee!
Little is known about when or how this person got to the Human Sphere, but when asked why he was interested in competing in REM Racers, he always gives the same simple answer: "I was hungry."
